This EP is the first release for Lola King and The KickStarts. This 3 track release is a good introduction to this band who describe their music as indie-pop. L.O.V.E opens the EP, it is an honest and poignant song that describes the feelings and needs of a female- I can see lots of women relating to this song. “Bounce Together” is a charming tune and very catchy featuring lyrical repetition and an impressive guitar presence. The witty lyrics and British accent coming through will no doubt garner some Kate Nash comparisons for lead singer Lola King. “The Brave May Not Live Forever” is a more melancholy tune where vocals are jazzy and soulful.  There is a bluesy vibe to be heard with the reverb from the guitar and the slight raspyness in Kings voice.

The song writing ability that is shown by lead singer Lola King and her brother Dan on this EP is impressive- mainly due to the clever and observant lyrics that really hit the nail on the head. Look forward to hearing more from this band in the future.
