Among Brothers – Love

Starting off with a dangerous electronic introduction that I actually thought was coming from my recently acquired Gears of War 3 game (I had it on in the background), Love takes numerous twists and turns throughout its 3 and a half minute length, resulting in a truly eclectic sound. The trouble is even the most eclectic sounds have a common theme, whereas the work from Among Brothers doesn’t seem to have a proper rhyme or reason to it.
Love has some decent moments within the track, the introduction in particular was a nice start but it goes downhill quicker than an England World Cup campaign. The two vocalists don’t work well in unison and combining a synthesiser with a violin is daring yet crap if it doesn’t work. It doesn’t. The track also comes to an abrupt end, so really aside from the first five seconds there isn’t anything positive I can say about Among Brothers. The group clearly have talent, although not using every weapon in their armoury would yield much better results.
