‘Tashaki Miyaki EP’
(The Sounds of Sweet Nothing)
Debut EP Released October 31st
Californian act, Tashaki Miyaki have been the subject of much discussion since their ingenious cover the Everly Brothers ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’ appeared on blogs at the beginning of the summer. A few months along and an NME Radar piece later and they’re now ready to announce the release of their debut 4 tracks EP matching the harmonies and harmonics of yesteryear contemporaries such as Karen Carpenter, John Lennon and Jesus and The Mary Chain with their modern day counterparts such as Best Coast or Cults.
Lead track Somethin’ Better Than Nothin’ is an anthemic standard of forlorn love that builds to a mass only to be drowned out in wailing feedback, the aquatic themed space-tinged video was directed by Juan Iglesias and can be viewed here.
