CARL COX

ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE DANCEFLOOR – PHASE 2 CONFIRMED

  • Ground-breaking USB technology offering access to everything Carl Cox throughout

2011 – Available now for just £17.99

  • Phase 2 kicks off with the release of the new single, ‘Chemistry’ on September 26th

followed by the main tracks of the album on October 17th – Carl’s first studio album in

over 6 years.

  • Phase 3: In November the album will be performed live and made available to all album

buyers.

Following the initial release of ‘All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor,’ Carl Cox has confirmed Phase 2 of the project will kick off on September 26th with the release of his new single ‘Chemistry’ (with remixes from Reso and Nicole Moudaber). This will be followed by the long-awaited final album, which will be added to the USB on October 17th, and the third single, ‘Nexus’ on the 24th October (with remixes from Foamo and Tomy De Clerque).

Recorded over the last year in Carl’s Melbourne studio, ‘All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor’ showcases a range of styles across including Vocal House, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Latin and of course Techno, with a new emphasis on vocalists and musicians. Standouts include the new drum & bass inspired single and Carl’s personal favourite, ‘Chemistry,’ with old-skool vocals from newcomer Shelley Segal.  “There’s great energy and movement in the track,” says Carl. “And Shelley’s vocals are something else.” To compliment the original there’s a driving tech house remix courtesy of Nicole Moudaber, and a dupstep electro re-work from Reso that’s already turning heads.

Other highlights include the Nexus,’ a Latin infused synth-house cut with vocals courtesy of Australian artist Juanita Timpanaro, featring a tough tech house work out from Tomy De Clerque and a carnival-esque dubstep house mix from Foamo. The robo-house of ‘We Rob Together’ and closer ‘I Like To See You Again,’ featuring a catchy vocal from Johnny Galvatron also feature.  Elsewhere don’t miss the dark and brooding new school house of ‘Bread & Butter,’ the uplifting ‘Sentimiento Latino,’ future dubstep anthem ‘One Nation,’ and the steel drums of Earth Wind & Fire sampling ‘Fantasee.’

“Having these amazing vocalists and musicians involved from the start has really helped sculpt the record,” says Carl. “Plus it’s given the entire project legs as we can now take it on the road, so people can see there’s depth to what I’ve created.”

Even more excitingly, Intec have created a whole new concept around the album release; “You pay the one price for the one product,” explains Carl. “And the USB will not only give you the album, but it’ll also be your key to everything I do in the next 12 months or so.”

The USB interface is essentially a website home page. A truly stunning interface in terms of usability, look and feel, but further more content and interactivity:  Buyers will of course be able to stream, as well as download the album & remixes, along with gaining full access to the entire Intec Digital catalogue, Carl’s latest four Global radio shows and exclusive videos and more – and all for just £17.99.

With this new USB interface new content can be added to the USB sticks, even after they have been purchased – a user simply plugs in, the USB will connect automatically to its CMS location and update within seconds. So, being able to add content at any stage down the USB’s life makes it an album that essentially lives on – its life is extended through new exciting content that people will want to plug in again for. These content additions include access to additional album remixes, exclusive live set recordings, video interviews & behind the scenes video footage from Carl on tour, and what really stands out – access to LIVE (Realtime) video streams from Carl’s gigs.  Intec have also worked along side Pioneer on this project, giving the budding DJ an insight into the future of DJing with USB sticks – videos on the stick will include tutorial, tips & tricks with Carl, behind the scenes at a sound check, Pioneer Rekordbox tutorial, plus more.

As Carl explains: “I’m asking people to buy the USB, and I’m promising that with the singles, the videos, the actual album, plus all the extras – they won’t be disappointed. I didn’t want to just put it online and let that be that. I’ve spent too long on it, and it’s too important to me to be degraded that way. I wanted to do something special with this release, something really forward thinking, and I think we’ve achieved it.”

Taking further advantage of this updatable technology Intec have taken that extra step in terms of how Carl’s album music will be released.  The campaign has seen the music behind ‘All Roads lead to the Dancefloor’ released along side its many extras over three separate phases:

Phase 1 – COMPLETE!

The USB is now available, loaded with the first taster of Carl’s new album. The USB features 12 brand new tracks, including cuts that will be on the final album, along with B-sides and exclusives, and the first single, ‘Family Guy’ – a 10-minute slice of classic techno, with remixes from Layo & Bushwacka! & Jon Rundell.

Phase 2 – BEGINNING 26TH SEPTEMBER

On September 26th, owners of the USB will receive the second single, ‘Chemistry,’ complete with remixes by Foamo and Nicole Moudabe, followed by the final and complete album on October 17th. The third single, Nexus is released on October 24th, with remixes from Foamo and Tomy De Clerque.

But I’ve never taken the easy option. I take pride in that.”
