191 Pancras Way (behind the station), NW1 1UL
“Wondrous and terrifying at the same time… PJP reveals herself to be a mesmerising artist to watch through your fingers.” – The Independent
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Petra Jean Phillipson will be bringing her dizzying array of songs and styles to St. Pancras Old Church this coming Friday. The multi-talented songstress has, alongside working with the likes ofMarc Almond, Marianne Faithfull, David Holmes and Martina Topley-Bird, been producing other artists’ albums and composing film scores, but with the long-awaited follow-up to 2005’s critically acclaimed debut, Notes On: Love just around the corner, expect a showcase for the shadowy songstress’ newest collection of songs to be the main attraction at this week’s gig.
Notes On: Death is scheduled for release January 2012; a dualistic double album sure to please existing fans and enthral new listeners alike, and will be preceded by a unique theatrical performance written and performed by Petra and scored by music from the album. Expect Friday’s gig to be every bit as theatrical, with Petra’s inimitable style sure to captivate the room.
