Matt Berry is pleased to announce the release of his single, ‘So Low’ on 3rd October, which is taken from his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Witchazel’, out now on Acid Jazz. He will play in store at Rough Trade East on 27th September.

Twelve months ago Matt Berry was most widely recognised as a talented actor and writer who starred in the award winning television series The IT Crowd, science-fiction film ‘Moon’ and cult series ‘Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace’, as well as his own series ‘Snuff Box’. In March this year Berry released his compelling psych-folk debut album to critical acclaim and revealed a further string to his bow which established him as a highly regarded British recording artist. Berry is currently starring as Aaron in the hit film ‘One Day’ and is the studio writing his much anticpated second album. Details to be announced.

‘So Low’ sounds like Matt spent the day with Todd Rundgren at the controls in early 70s Bearsville Studio and features a B side called ‘The Poacher’ especially recorded for the release. It is accompanied by a video, which is a faithful reproduction of a session on the iconic BBC music show ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’,  and features some familiar faces including John Simm.
