BLUE OCTOBER

***Multi – Platinum US Art Rock Band’s ‘Any Man In America’ Album released October 3rd via earMUSIC / Edel prior to 2 UK headline gigs in November***

‘Any Man In America’, Blue October’s stunning seventh album, is a pivotal, landmark opus which marks a massive new beginning for this hugely talented multi-platinum selling US rock band. ‘Any Man In America’, set for release on October 3rd via earMUSIC / Edel, was inspired by, and chronicles singer Justin Furstenfeld’s deeply personal marriage breakdown and a tenuous custody battle that consumed him to breaking point.

Blue October had sold over 4 million albums in the US, scored platinum sales with singles like ‘Hate Me’, Jump Rope’ and ‘Into The Ocean’, plus high profile film and TV placements on ‘The Sopranos’, ‘Saw III’ and ‘NCIS’, before Justin’s personal life began to fall apart during and after the release of 2009’s ‘Approaching Normal’ album. Instead of falling further, he turned to the studio; “I decided to document everything. If I messed up along the way, I’d tell that too. I called the album my ‘Audio Journal’ as I was writing. I didn’t want the music to just be about me though. I wanted it to help other fathers in America who might be going through the same thing” explains Furstenfeld. The result is ‘Any Man In America’, containing thirteen new songs that tell a cathartic tale of heartbreak and healing through unbridled lyrical honesty, anthemic modern rock hooks, and sweeping, melodic soundscapes.

‘Any Man In America’ was co-produced by Tim Palmer, (Grammy award winning mixer for U2’s ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’, David Bowie, Pearl Jam and Robert Plant, among others) with Furstenfeld, who had “the freedom to be that open and honest”. Something of a new beginning for Blue October, nuances of hip hop have been woven into their patented progressive rock tinged sound, yielding intriguing, irresistibly infectious tunes. The first radio single from the album, ‘The Chills’, is an upbeat modern rock track with one of the biggest hooks of Blue October’s career, as Justin urges for change in the relationship. He exclaims “I’m pleading, ‘Why do you have to act like that? Why do I always feel these chills?’ Those chills are how you know you love someone. The song is about me trying to prove my love because of those chills.” Check out the video here:-

A month after release of ‘Any Man In America’, Blue October, fly in to the UK to commence their European tour with the following concerts:-

3rd November – LONDON Islington O2 Academy

4th November – BIRMINGHAM O2

Blue October, whose influences include the likes of Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, U2 and Flaming Lips, were formed in 1995 in Houston, Texas, by singer, songwriter / guitarist Justin, his brother Jeremy (drums) and multi instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye. After years of relentless touring, they exploded into the mainstream in 2006 when ‘Hate Me’, a single taken from their ‘Foiled’ album, catapulted to the top of the US Modern Rock charts and the video for the single went to #2 on VH1. ‘Foiled’, which peaked at 29 in Billboard’s national album chart, went on to sell 1.6 million copies, while 2009’s ‘Approaching Normal’ long player crashed even higher in to the Billboard Top 40 chart at 13.

Many of the best works in the art world are born out of the most intense, gut-wrenching emotions, and ‘Any Man In America’ is without a shadow of a doubt no exception to this rule.
