As I Ride With No Horse

Battant have just completed their new album ‘As I Ride With No Horse’, a new milestone on the band’s path which will be released on Kill The DJ Records on October 24th. Since Tim Fairplay departed to focus on his own projects, Battant has been working as a duet and delivering a much more personal, melodic and sentimental album.

 

Battant are playing Shacklewell Arms, London on September 20th.

 

Great photographer RANKIN fell in love with charismatic and boyish BATTANT singer Chloe Raunet and recently conceived a wonderful 3D video for Hot Rod, taken from their first album No Head (2009).

Aiming for a simple and essential sound, they’ve written and recorded the tracks in a very organic way, letting the sounds come to them in their make-shift home studio surrounded by out of tune guitars, antique harmonicas, collection of Orff percussions, tambourine, jaw harp, toy accordions, violin, jars of rice & squeaky chairs.

 

Together and with their production team It’s A Fine Line (Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris) they share more than a musical vision, a unique connection based on trust and a common fondness for the strength of restraint.
