Sparrow and the Workshop will release a new single “Faded Glory” on October 10th through Distiller Records as a digital download.  The track was produced and mixed by Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno / Sam Amidon), and is the 2nd single to be taken from their recently released acclaimed album, “Spitting Daggers”. The album will also be released on limited edition white vinyl and will include last year’s standalone single “Black To Red”, which will see its first release in physical format as a bonus track on the vinyl.

The band completed a headline tour of the UK in early June and performed at various festivals over the summer, including Secret Garden Party, RockNess and London Calling (Amsterdam). The lead single from the album was playlisted on 6music and the band also performed a live session on the Lauren Laverne show.  The lead press image (featuring the band standing in the middle of a lake) was shot by photographer Ben ‘Pip’ Seeds and has been shortlisted for the AOP Awards (Association of Photographers).

There is something gloriously new about the way Sparrow flit effortlessly between innocent simplicity and dark complexity, from ethereal softness to fearless post-rock crescendos at the drop of a hat. While they have been compared to bands as varied as Jefferson Airplane, Talking Heads and Black Sabbath, they have created their own unique sound by daring to ignore trends and fads and follow their own musical trajectory. The band will be playing the following headlining UK shows as part of their European tour:

Wed 14th – London, Proud Galleries Break Out Night

Thu 15th – Wolverhampton, Slade Rooms

Sat 17th – Leicester, Lock 42

Sun 18th – Manchester, Deaf Institute

Tue 20th – Bristol, Louisiana
