Cheerleader, whose influences include Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, The Cult, Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses, Hellacopters, Motorhead and The Beatles,  were officially formed in Stockholm late in 2009 when ex – Supragod guitarist Joan Vieru hooked up with vocalist / bassist Joel Ek, his guitarist brother Niklas, and drummer Andreas Westerlund. Initially, they jokingly called themselves ‘The Sh!t’, but as soon as they realised what great music they were making, this eight legged groove machine cast about for a less mental moniker and morphed into Cheerleader. Having spent most of 2010 writing songs, they recorded ‘Vegas Or Bust’ in the Spring of 2011. Ex- Supragod band member Rille Lundell, now guitarist in Warrior Soul, passed a copy of ‘Vegas Or Bust’ to main man Kory Clarke, who was so impressed that he offered Cheerleader the special guest slot on Warrior Soul’s September UK and Irish tour.

Whenever brothers play in a band together, sparks frequently fly between the two siblings, generating a volatile force that can be harnessed to create incendiary, organic rock music. Never is this more evident than on ‘Vegas Or Bust’, a powerful, rhythm driven compact collection of catchy, melodic, effervescent rock anthems.
