THE SPECIALS
UNIQUE LIVE RECORDINGS FROM THE SPECIALS
Having recently performed at the Belsonic Festival in Dublin, THE SPECIALS head out this month on a European and UK tour, which takes them up to the start of November 2011. For the first time, on all the dates they will be recording every show and making a live CD available of the performance within minutes of the show ending. Fans can either pre-order copies via the band’s live website www.thespecialslive.com prior to the show, or just head to the merchandise stall and collect their unique (to that show) fully packaged double CD as they leave the venue. The recording will also be available within 24 hours as a download via www.thespecialslive.com and a custom 4GB USB featuring exclusive unseen footage of the band and a few surprises as well as a code to download the show will be available in October. At the end of the tour the ultimate fan package of a very limited 500 only box set will be produced with CD’s of every show from the 27-date tour. The recordings will be done by the world famous Abbey Road Live Here Now team, who will travel all over Europe with the band producing the ultimate souvenir of the night. The CDs are limited to 1000 per show; all formats are available to pre-order now from www.thespecialslive.com
When The Specials kicked off the first night of their sold out 30th Anniversary tour in April 2009 nobody could have realised just how incredible these live shows would be, and the utterly amazing reaction of fans around the world. The audiences were packed with music lovers who had waited since 1981 to revisit this stunning band alongside Specials ‘virgins’ who had never had the chance to see them live. When the curtains dropped and Terry Hall, Lynval Golding, Neville Staple, Roddy Byers, Horace Panter and John Bradbury exploded on stage to ‘Do The Dog’ dancehalls up and down the country erupted with young and old stomping as if their lives depended on it. 2011 sees a new show from the band, but expect all the classics we know and love.
