ST. VINCENT VIDEO FOR ‘CRUEL’ PREMIERED ON HUFFINGTON POST
The new video for ‘Cruel’ by St. Vincent has premiered on the US edition of the Huffington Post.
Shot in northern California, and directed and produced by long-time collaborators Terri Timely, the video provides the perfect visual accompaniment to the sinister lyrical themes that cut through the song. Seeing Annie Clark situated in various stages of domestic anguish, the video evokes the off-kilter suburban ennui of The Stepford Wives, reflecting the playfully twisted contrasts that characterise ‘Cruel’ as both melodically uplifting and dark-centred.

‘Cruel’ is taken from St. Vincent’s third studio album, Strange Mercy, out September 12th, via 4AD. Hear another album track, ‘Surgeon’, at www.strangemercy.com
