San Francisco duo Girls will release a new single ‘Honey Bunny’ on 10th October. Available on 7” vinyl and download. ‘Honey Bunny’ is the brilliant opening track on the band’s forthcoming new album ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’ and is set to build on the critical success of recent free download ‘Vomit’
The album ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’ will be released in the UK on 12th September. It comes two years after Girls’ acclaimed debut (‘Album’), and a year after the follow-up mini-album (‘Broken Dreams Club’). Produced by the band themselves, it’s their most accomplished record to date
Girls have taken what they’ve always done best and have displayed it with amazing clarity and the strongest of intent. Classic songwriting coupled with exciting production is their way. “I’m still all the same,” Owens says. “I still know I have to do it. I still love the songs and writing songs.”
‘Father. Son, Holy Ghost’ is at times ebullient and at times absolutely devastating. A truly beautiful record and the perfect amalgamation of a band’s past and present while most importantly leaving us all excited and hungry
Girls also recently announced a November UK headline tour that will feature the band’s biggest UK headline show to date at London’s 1100 capacity Electric Ballroom and a show with Stephen Malkmus on 10th November at Manchester’s Ritz venue. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
The full November tour dates are:
8th – The Globe, Cardiff, UK
9th – Electric Ballroom, London, UK
10th – The Ritz, Manchester, UK
11th – Glasgow, Stereo, UK
12th – Rescue Rooms, Nottingham, UK
