With just two weeks to go until the Early Bird ticket deadline, festival goers are urged to get their discounted Split Festival tickets now to avoid missing out! Curated by The Futureheads, the festival will bring Sunderland a weekend of indulgence, offering a variety of music, comedy and food.

Split Festival Chairman, Rob Deverson said: “Split Festival offers amazing value for money when you consider an Early Bird weekend ticket only costs £35 and kids under 11 go free. We are keen to create a family friendly atmosphere and offer value and quality at the same time.”

Split Festival takes place across September 17th and 18th at Ashbrooke Sports Club in Sunderland and will be showcasing some of the UK’s best loved bands including The Charlatans, The Drums, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Mystery Jets, The Rifles, The King Blues and Dinosaur Pile-Up – to name but a few!

Headline acts for the Fringe Tent this year include Brit Award winner and twice Mercury nominated artist Beth Orton, Michelle Stodart (The Magic Numbers) and Jarvis Cocker endorsed act Withered Hand.

Lewis Carroll famously wrote ‘Alice In Wonderland’ in Backhouse Park, Sunderland and to celebrate this piece of local heritage Split Festival will be holding its very own Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, hosted by BBC MasterChef finalist, This Morning TV Chef and Split Festival’s very own Queen of Hearts; Stacie Stewart.

Ranging from Filipino and Indian cuisine to gourmet burgers, steaks and delectable cupcakes and Split-themed cookies, this festival will offer food like no other, alongside some of the North East’s brightest comedians including Jason Cook and Richard Gadd on the Sunday night.

Now in its third year, Split Festival has expanded massively for 2011 with internationally renowned bands headlining the festival and thanks to our massive new marquee, which was used at Glastonbury; we can guarantee that whatever the weather everyone at Sunderland’s very own premier music festival will remain dry and happy.
