VERONICA FALLS

Veronica Falls – Bad Feeling by Bella Union

Self-titled album released 17th October on Bella Union

Chances are you might have already heard “Come On Over”, the beautifully poignant and bittersweet pop belter which London quartet Veronica Falls gave away as a free track last month, acting as an enticing teaser to their debut self-titled album, due in October.

Now comes another glimpse of what the band have in store, with the deliciously infectious feel-bad hit of the summer, “Bad Feeling”. Following in the footsteps of previous singles “Beachy Head” (an ode to the infamous suicide spot) and “Found Love in a Graveyard” (about a doomed romance with a ghost), “Bad Feeling” is a breezy, beautiful pop song with a macabre sting in its tail, this time with singer Roxanne Clifford offsetting the gorgeous, chiming chorus with the ominous couplet “I’ve got a bad feeling/ and it’s not going away”, like the dark cloud on a perfect summer’s day. It is backed by the brand new track “Back Page”, recorded with the prodigious (and prodigiously talented) Rory Attwell.

Make sure, too, to catch the band live – first their own headline shows in October, including a show at the Lexington on October 20, then the band will then head on a UK tour as support to Dum Dum Girls in November.
