Following the critically acclaimed Cowardly Soldier’s Lament, Rocketeer are back with their second single, Leave Me. In vivid contrast to their debut single, this track displays the band’s versatility in their brooding lyrics and pulsating dance groove. Leave Me is set for release on 12th September on The Animal Farm label.
Rocketeer comprises Felix Hagan (bass & vocals), brothers Hugh and Benny Carter (rhythm guitar & Drums), Francis Bevan (lead guitar, vocals) and Tom Heaven on (keyboards, trumpet, vocals); all members originally from the south west (Somerset).
The band formed in 2007 and began a rigorous campaign of gigging, cramming themselves onto countless stages of venues, town halls, festivals and pubs throughout the country leading to an acclaimed performance on the John Peel stage at Glastonbury Festival. With continuous recording of new material, the band fine-tuned their distinctive sound, and in the process gained themselves a flock of eager fans. Their live shows are a real spectacle, with infectious songs demonstrating professional musicianship.
The haunting piano led introduction of Leave Me fills the listener with a sense of anticipation, and when the rhythmic pop chorus erupts the harmonies have you swaying and you almost forget how lyrically dark the song is.
Leave Me is set for release on the Animal Farm on 12th September 2011
