THE DIRTY PEARLS
Whether You Like It or Not
Rivington Records
Emerging from Manhattan’s lower east side, The Dirty Pearls have charged head first into the music scene. With electric guitars, bass, drums, and soaring vocals, the band taps into the roots of rock and roll music and uses the grunge and grime of New York City’s nightlife to further inspire their sound.
The band originated with lead singer Tommy London, a Philadelphia native who moved to New York in hopes of forming a group that would channel both the sound and mentality of bands like The Ramones and Guns N’ Roses. After an impromptu jam session with Johnny B Azari, Tommy Mokas, Doug Wright, and Marty E., London and the rest of the guys discovered an extraordinary connection with one another that involved a shared vision for their music. And thus, The Dirty Pearls were born.
The band attained immediate success with a series of sold out shows across New York City. Their energetic live performances and memorable rock anthems have caught the attention of artists like Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Little Steven, and Joan Jett. In addition, The Dirty Pearls have found success by way of opening on tour for such acts as Scott Weiland, New York Dolls, Andrew WK, and JET.
Despite already having a lengthy list of accomplishments, The Dirty Pearls are far from being finished. Their new LP Whether You Like It Or Not drops in January 2012 on Rivington Records. Produced by David Kahne, who has worked with bands like The Strokes and Sublime, this new album will definitely pack a punch. With more guitar solos, lively choruses, and fired up lyrics, The Dirty Pearls are looking forward by drawing on the best parts of the past.
