After 2 years its release in Brazil, finally Sem Nostalgia, Lucas Santtana’s album, is released in the United Kingdom.

 

Sem Nostalgia is one of the most original albums upon which you could stumble during this summer. Santtana blends atmospheres of Bossa Nova a la Joao Gilberto and Caetano Veloso, with sparkling electronics and unique rhythmic.

 

In Sem Nostalgia there are 50 years and more of Brazilian tradition mashed up and projected towards a future that is for sure brilliant for this artist.

 

The single Super Violão Mashup that opens the album is the manifesto of the sound of Santtana. A Cannonball Adderley’s styled guitar mashed up in a frenzy but absolutey fascinating manner that sticks straight away in the mind although its complexity.

 

It’s hard to find a moment of boredom during twelve excellent tracks. Sem Nostalgia will accompany the rest of the summer with its joy and intensity, leaving a sense of saudade every time you’ll give it a rest. Un-missable.
