Gabe Dixon – One Spark

The hyper-prolific mind of Gabe Dixon provides another proof of his talent. The piano-driven pop of One Spark will conquer the heart of emotional teenagers craving for sugary tunes.
12 tracks of incredibly catchy American pop will surely attract the attention of radios and tv series, giving notoriety to an artist that has already played in a Paul McCartney’s album and became keyboardist of Supertramp last year.
Although the skills and talents of this excellent artist are out of discussion, One Spark shows Dixon’s obsession with resulting attractive and easily remembered. His fifth album thus flows smoothly but fails in sticking in the mind of the listener.
One Spark’s melodies are unfortunately too much for anyone over 18, and this is really a shame, because more complexity would have maybe given us a new Josh Rouse.
