Just added to the A playlist on Radio 2, Yellow, the new single from CocknBullKid, is quickly gaining the attention of British soul-poppers.

 

Gentle and atmospheric in its plainness, Yellow enters the mind of the listener just after few seconds, ready to be whistled and sung having a shower. Thanks to Yellow CocknBullKid will now reach consideration from the public, after having fascinated already artists like Kele Okereke and Marina and the Diamonds, that wanted her to open their gigs last year.

 

Born in Hackney from Ghanaian parents, Anita Blay, this her real name, seems to get ready to reap the fruit of her hard labour, started with her first single On My Own, enriched by an EP, Querelle, and sealed by Adulthood, her first album.

 

Yellow is out on Moshi Moshi records.
