My Tiger My Timing – Endless Summer
aaamusic | On 01, Aug 2011
A funky, leftfield, electro punk group from London, My Tiger My Timing release their third single, Endless Summer, on their own Snakes & Ladders label on August 1st, 2011. This alternative indie 5 piece band, around since 2008, are Anna Vincent (vocals), James Vincent (guitar, bass), Jamie Harrison (guitar, bass), Seb Underhill (keys) and Gary Drain (drums).
This simple song is inspired by being trapped by grey winter like holidays spent in the city. It’s about a dream to escape rain and thunder to return to the idyllic, endless summers of the past which seemed possible when the school gates opened. There are hypnotic drums, radiant electronics, rhythmic guitars and good backing vocals.
In their video they try to recapture those passing moments of playful innocence and there’s a great deal of fun, sun and silliness as they throw frisbees, blow bubbles and have water fights.
It’s the sort of song you’re likely to hear on campsites during the summer festivals. Really quite catchy without being pretentious and unique in having a Bright Light Mix where the introductory vocals are done by a cricket!
Their remaining summer 2011 gigs are:
7 August – The Finsbury, London
12 August – Beacons Festival, Yorkshire
27 August – Festinho Festival, Bedfordshire
