OTHELLO WOOLF Debut album ‘Othello Woolf’ released 5th September
aaamusic | On 30, Jul 2011
Following the success of limited edition single ‘Stand’ and recently released ‘Cold In Flesh’ EP, the eagerly anticipated debut LP from Othello Woolf will be available as a limited-period free download at www.othellowoolf.com and on iTunes on 5th September.
Reeling from a painful break-up, these songs reflect the ins and outs of failed love. They detail the regret, confusion, anger and lack of confidence that inevitably follow. ‘Stand’ and ‘Deep Water’ look back through rose-tinted glass at certain memories in a relationship that forcefully linger in the mind. ‘Doorstep’ intimately details a paranoid fear of rejection (don’t leave me on your doorstep, don’t lock up your door) and the inevitability that nothing this good can last forever. ‘I Am An Artist’ and ‘Confidence Barometer’ are about trying to pick yourself up from heartache and having self- belief in the face of broken dreams.‘Scared Of Love’ is a dark R&B jam lamenting lost love and the temptation to wallow in self-pity.
In recent months Othello Woolf has been collaborating with fellow artist/producer Bullion (recordings forthcoming), New York high-fashion photographer Fabien Montique (Kanye West, Mos Def, John Legend, ID), was invited by Armani to perform at their summer live event, and has produced the debut EP from an as-yet secret London group, due for release later this year.
Othello Woolf will be playing the following live show:
19th August – John Kennedy Presents at Tooting Tram & Social, London
