Not Getting Any Better – The Remixes –EP

InnerPartySystem is an American electronica band, based in New York, with a leaning towards rock more than dance.  It consists of the trio Patrick Nissley, Jared Piccone and Kris Barman.

In October 2009 the band worked on their EP Never Be Content, released in February 2011, shifting more towards dance or disco and including the track Not Getting Any Better.

A six track remix EP of this track has recently been released on Red Bull Records:

1 Not Getting Any Better (Radio Edit) 3:49. Shorter than the original, this version has a pulsating slow beat with distinctive vocals.

2 Not Getting Any Better (Sander Kleinenberg Radio Mix).

Remix – 3:37. This fast paced remix has a distinctive sense of urgency.

3 Not Getting Any Better (Sidney Samson Radio Extended Mix)

Remix – 4:09. Here, the synthesiser dominates with an ambient sound and the vocals become more distant.

4 Not Getting Any Better (Dave Audé Radio Edit)

Remix –3:53.  This funky version has distinctive vocals with elements of the original and some excellent verses.

5 Not Getting Any Better (Treasure Fingers Epicwave Mix)

Remix –3:32. Rated by some as the best remix, this is a loud bass track which changes to chill-wave and progressive house.

6 Not Getting Any Better (Designer Drugs Remix)

Remix – 4:14. This remix is from electronic heavyweights Designer Drugs.

Not Getting Any Better was created with a simple beat and evolved into different versions in the studio. Seen through a relationship, it’s about not being able to let go of the past emotionally, the hardness of a journey and a denial of the bitter conclusions of it. The track gradually becomes more intense as we learn about the addiction of love and the destruction that the loss of love can cause.

InnerPartySystem was named after a term used in the George Orwell novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Orwell once said that you cannot be funny without being vulgar, so I think I’ll avoid the temptation to end on a joke.
