Lisbee Stainton: FOLK-POP’S RISING STAR RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE AND ALBUM

On August 15th Lisbee Stainton returns to the fold in style with ‘Wrench’, the first single to be taken from her forthcoming new album ‘Go’.
When Lisbee released her second album, ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’, at the end of 2009 it announced the arrival of a serious songwriting talent. Having been championed by BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, two singles from the album, ‘Red’ and ‘Never Like An Angel’, were playlisted by Radio 2, while a third single ‘Just Like Me’ was voted ‘Record of The Week’ on the Radcliffe & Maconie Show. ‘Girl On An Unmade Bed’ subsequently received a barrage of critical acclaim from the UK’s national and music press.
This success brought the 23-year-old London-based singer-songwriter to the attention of Joan Armatrading, who personally chose Lisbee to be the main support act for her extensive tour of the UK and mainland Europe. Armed with her custom built 8-string guitar, Lisbee played 73-dates throughout the summer of 2010, including a sold-out home-town concert at The Royal Albert Hall.
Shortly after the Joan Armatrading tour, Lisbee was honoured with the news that ‘Never Like An Angel’ had been chosen to appear alongside tracks by stars such as Katie Melua and Judy Garland on the compilation ‘Latest and Greatest Women of Song’, released in July 2010 by Union Square.
Before Lisbee returned to the studio to begin work on ‘Go’, Lisbee completed a successful forty-four-date headline European tour, which was quickly followed by dates supporting Belgian star Tom Dice and The Maverick’s Raul Malo, who personally invited Lisbee to join him onstage for a duet.
As the finishing touches were being put to ‘Go’ in the Spring of 2011, Paul Carrack invited Lisbee to be the main support act for his tour of mainland Europe, describing her as “the new Joni Mitchell” and further enhancing Lisbee’s growing reputation as one of folk-pop’s rising stars.
Lisbee’s new album, ‘Go’ is scheduled for release on October 3rd.
