South London’s The Tree are back with their brand new EP3 Custom Blue EP which is to be released via Ho Hum Records on the 20^th of June 2011.

Complied of four tracks ‘Custom Blue’ starts off ‘The Tree’ with the ambient and tranquil sound of ‘Summer’s Gone’, a lovely track structured together through the use of a soft acoustic instrumental accompanied by a lovely set of mellow vocals, which is also conveyed in the second track on the EP ‘Riverbend’. Followed by ‘Walking on Measured Soles’, the longest track on the EP lasting 9 minutes and 44 seconds it allows for the band to show off their versatile ability through this display of experimental instrumental, like structured play conveying the band’s free and unique sound, before coming to a close with the fourth and final track ‘Let It All Fall Down’.

 

A lovely EP, from a lovely band. Perfect for summer days and nights.
