Mojo Fury – We Should Just Run Away

Well, diddle my dog. I had no idea that a song that sound so pathologically awful on paper could sound so stratospherically epic in real life, try to mix together furiously addictive bass lines nicked wholesale from Kasabian, 1980’s video game synths, the kind of tortured yet manly vocals usually found in American emo rock, squalling guitar solos and the kind of streamlined pop sheen usually saved for Xenomania’s latest output and 99 times out of a hundred you’d get Sign O’ The Times written by someone with an seething hatred of humanity but as it is, this is a stone cold, four to the floor monster of a track with a 27 carat chorus that nails the devious trick of sounding thrillingly alien for the first three or so listens before ensnaring your mind on the forth and becoming part of your very make up as a human being. Seriously, If a catchier track has been written this year, then I’ll take your word for it, because chances are it won’t be as monstrously awesome as this. Highly recommended.
