Lucky Thirteen: A Celebration of thirteen years of Memphis Industries

Featuring: The Go! Team, Field Music, Dutch Uncles, Colourmusic
Koko, London, Wednesday 30th November
Run by brothers Matt and Ollie Jacob, independent record label Memphis Industries has over the years been proud home to talents as diverse as The Go! Team and Field Music, The Pipettes and Tokyo Police Club, Blue States and Dungen amongst many others.
Started as a hobby label, Memphis has somehow dodged the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, (otherwise known as a record industry dying on its arse) to continue to put out releases that surprise and delight. This year alone has seen albums from The Go! Team, The Phoenix Foundation, Dutch Uncles, Banjo or Freakout and Colourmusic.
So, having completely forgotten to celebrate their 10th anniversary in any style, Memphis has decided rectify this and draw together some of their latest and greatest bands together for one night only in a no way contrived 13th birthday celebration.
All the way from Oklahoma Colourmusic bring their primal euphoric heaviness, followed by Dutch Uncles acclaimed chrome plated future pop. The mighty Field Music return to London for the first time in a year, having been working on their hugely anticipated new album, and the whole thing is topped off by The Go! Team’s unique needles-in-the- red party starting experience.
