Jimmie Vaughan – Play More Blues, Ballads And Favourites
aaamusic | On 04, Jul 2011
Let me introduce you to Jimmie Vaughan and his new album Plays More Blues, Ballads And Favourites. Eldest brother of the almighty Stevie Ray, he has something to deal with almightiness too! Thirteen tracks for this work which I may call “new” but it would be inappropriate and disrespectful to the original owners of the tracks, and I’m not talking about strangers, though you might think they are – I can forgive you only if you’re not a blues listener – I’m talking about Roscoe Gordon, Roy Milton, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Reed, authors of the entire tracklist, except for one non-minor track, Comic and Goin, Jimmie’s instrumental, original music.
So I’m not here to review these guys, I would never say anything negative to them, It would be a blasphemy, you just have to listen to this album, probably the best Jimmie’s one, for is genuine, catchy, but most of all.. blues.
The pleasure’s all mine Jimmie, thank you.
