Isaac’s Aircraft – Two Is A Crowd
aaamusic | On 04, Jul 2011
First album for Cambridge four-piece Isaac’s Aircraft, four years after the EP Holding Up The Line. 10 tracks of indie-pop, honest but refined at the same time, based of the intertwinement of Zak Tomas’ voice and Martin Seidel’s piano.
My Baby Did Me Wrong and Mathematics sound like a tribute to the American adult-pop a la John Mayer. The best seems to come when more space is given to Calum Fall’s guitar, like in Good Man, or when the band goes up-tempo, like in Friends & Foes.
Isaac’s Aircraft limits don’t lie in the hands of the four Cambridians, but in their heads. This is a band formed by four superb musicians that didn’t understand well what kind of music would like to play yet and remain in a limbo where the word ‘originality’ doesn’t exist.
