Chris Difford joins Tom Moriarty at July 6th Driftwood Sessions
June’s Driftwood Sessions saw The Elgin in full swing as Tom Moriarty went all guns blazing with his selection of songs from the critically acclaimed album, Fire In The Doll’s House, which recently received a formidable 4 STAR review from the illustrious GUITARIST magazine.
Driftwood Records have decided it’s time to step things up a gear this month by bringing in the double Ivor Novello winning, walking enigma that is Chris Difford, one half of the inimitable and timeless Squeeze: with his sometimes bewildering kitchen sink lyrics and urban folk stories, Difford has brought us characters and sketches from every day life, turning that mundane into the beautiful, the urbane into the exquisite, for over 30 years.
Still penning song-writes for artists such as Olly Murs, Chris Difford is still as popular as ever and when you see the show he puts on, it won’t take you long to see why. A mix of the new, the downright hilarious and the classics that we all know him for, it’s an evening that will be embraced by many, enjoyed by everyone!
The night, as ever, is curated by Tom Moriarty who’s new single ‘Life’s a Mystery’ is arriving this summer. The album ‘Fire In The Doll’s House’ is available to download from all the usual digital outlets.
