Document landmark show with the release of their first ever live album and DVD ‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ OUT TODAY on 14th Floor Records

Long established as one of the world’s most incendiary live bands, Biffy Clyro will document last year’s landmark show at Wembley Arena by releasing their first ever live album and DVD ‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ today June 27th on 14th Floor Records.

 

In celebration of the release ‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ will also be promoted with the launch of a free live digital download EP on June 27th. Serving as a taster to the full album, two tracks – ‘Mountains’ and ‘Bubbles’ – will be free to download directly from http://www.biffyclyro.com/downloads/free-live-songs.htm, which is also available as an embeddable widget (details of which are at the bottom of this press release). Registered fans of the band’s free fan club, Team Biffy, will also receive a third track ‘Machines’.

 

Recorded on December 4th 2010, the live album celebrates the band’s career to date as it includes songs ranging from fan favourite ‘57’ which originally featured on their debut EP right up to the present day with performances of all of the singles taken from their all-conquering album ‘Only Revolutions’. Harking back to the classic live albums of the Seventies, the 90-minute set includes numerous other classics from their back catalogue including ‘Saturday Superhouse’, ‘FoldingStars’ and ‘Glitter and Trauma’.

 

In addition to the nineteen-track CD, ‘Revolutions // Live at Wembley’ also features a DVD filmed at the same show, a full band commentary on the show and a documentary of last year’s T in the Park show entitled ‘Only Reflections’.

 

‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ will be launched with nationwide cinema screenings of the film commenced from June 27th. Two special screenings at theEdinburgh Picture House (June 29th) and London’s Odeon West End (June 30th) will also feature an acoustic session from the band.

 

The release of the album caps an already hectic summer for Biffy Clyro. Their summer live dates include festival headline sets at Sonisphere (July 9th) andWakestock (July 10th), a main stage set at Glastonbury (June 24th) and two shows as special guests to Foo Fighters at the Milton Keynes National Bowl onJuly 2nd and 3rd.

 

The release of ‘Only Revolutions’ catapulted Biffy Clyro into rock’s premier league. The album originally entered the charts at #8 when it was released towards the end of 2009, but the album’s enduring popularity saw it peak at #3 almost a year later. The album has sold 600,000 copies in the UK alone and includes a succession of hit singles in the shape of ‘Mountains’ (#5)‘Many of Horror’ (#8), ‘That Golden Rule’ (#10)‘The Captain’ (#17), ‘Bubbles’ (#34) and ‘God and Satan’ (#36).
