Clement Marfo & The Frontline will release their free ‘Welcome EP’ on 20 June 2011. The incredible three-track remixtape includes Clement Marfo vs Smasher – Take A Look (Rude Kid Remix) which was premiered on June 14th by Mistajam on 1Xtra who dubbed Clement Marfo & The Frontline a “massive, massive future prospect”. The Welcome EP also features ‘Lights Out’ remixed by Chasing Pluto, and ‘Champion’ remixed by Smasher. The release of the free EP coincides with the launch of their new website – www.clementmarfo.com – on 20 June.
The seven-piece diverse collective from South London is led by the charismatic Clement. Born to Ghanaian parents and raised in Kingston, South London, Clement has become something of a phenomenon in the underground British grime scene.. Clement’s hard-hitting flow is complimented by the multi-talents of vocalist Kojo, Dion on drums, Johnny on bass, Rich and Dan on guitar and the sole female of the collective, Stacey, on keyboards and vocals.
Clement Marfo & The Frontline’s inimitable sound comes from their deft ability to fuse hip-hop, grime, rock and pop in a brilliantly idiosyncratic fashion. Known for their energetic and irrepressible live shows, the last year has seen them gain early radio support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Semtex; as well as playing live with a wide range of artists including Plan B, Example and Florence and The Machine. This summer sees the band play big shows at The Coronet for ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ on Jul 15th, a headline show at Plan B in Brixton on July 29th, and at Hoxton Bar & Grill for ‘ILUVLIVE’ on August 3rd.
