Alistair Griffin – Just Drive

| On 20, Jun 2011

It took around 4 seconds into Alistair Griffin’s single Just Drive to realise the song is an X-factor attempt. The two minute poppy single features all the clichés from the music destroying contest, featuring an over-the-top crescendo which leads into the most atmospheric chorus in modern music.

The song sounds far too similar to Miley Cyrus’ The Climb, both the verse and chorus sound like an awful alternative version of the song. The lyrics for the song are bad for pop standards as well, easily eclipsing such lyrical masterpieces as Black Eyed Peas’ My Humps and The Cheeky Girls Cheeky Song.

Maybe I’m being a tad harsh, but the single is absolute dross attempting to cater to the easiest and most commercially viable music genre out there. Anyone who listens to this will be able to draw comparisons between Alistair and contestants on Britain’s Got Talent or X Factor, therefore this music will only appeal to fans of reality TV or really, really bad pop.
