‘I Have Been Waiting’ is Shropshire indie band The Kayas debut single release. The track was recorded at The Sawmills recording studio in Cornwall in March 2011 where Oasis recorded their classic debut ‘Definitely Maybe’ and The Stone Roses fine tuned ‘Fools Gold’. With encouraging endorsements from Bonehead (Oasis) to Aziz Ibrahim (Ian Brown), and even songwriter’s and dramatists Tim Firth and Willy Russell, this is a band on the rise and ready to breathe life back into the UK music scene.
The bands debut single ‘I Have Been Waiting’, released on 27th June, was produced by John Cornfield (The Stone Roses, Supergrass, Cast, The Bluetones) and is a summer anthem waiting in the wings; a song so engaging it will have you pressing replay time and time again, its a captivating track of sublime quality and infuriating catchiness thats for sure.
Formed at the back end of 2007 The Kayas are a band who have been defining their sound whilst blazing a trail across the length and breadth of the UK, supporting several established acts and earning a loyal legion of followers along the way. The Kayas have built up a massive following through touring and word of mouth due to their breathtaking live performances. In January 2011 The Kayas signed a management and recording contract with Abblet Music Ltd, an Independent Record Label based in the Midlands. Abblet Music sent The Kayas almost instantly down to The Sawmills recording studio in Cornwall to start working on their debut album. Jarvis commented “It’s great to work with a label who don’t waste time, instead they set realistic goals and keep to targets, always pushing things forward like any band would want”.
At the time of writing this, The Kayas have just left the studio after completing 7 tracks for the album. They are due to return in June to finish off the album. In the mean time, the bands first single “I Have Been Waiting” is ready to roll……
