Beduk – Go

BEDUK’s new album ‘Go’ will definitely get your feet moving. This type of artist is not just the voice behind the music but also the writer, producer and visionary. ‘Go’ stretches itself across both the commercial club scene and the private listener market, which is no mean feat. Through this album BEDUK has catapulted the creditability of Turkish music into the European sphere as he incorporates all the traditional elements that club music has to provide; roaring baselines, sporadic flange and distorted vocals but tracks like Get Stoned shows his ability to cater for the MP3 generation as well as it caters to the more acoustic listener. Even though ‘Go’ does not revolutionize the genre in any way, it does not prevent this album from being simply enjoyable, which is what we suppose he set out to achieve. For the dance music pros, elements such as polyphony and musical intertextuality are missing but for a dance music novice there is nothing much to complain about – he delivers harmony and pulsating rhythm. And when you’re in a club, that’s all you really ever need.
