DAVID GRAY

ANNOUNCES UK PLANS FOR HIS “LOST AND FOUND” TOUR

A SERIES OF INTIMATE ACOUSTIC EVENINGS

INCLUDING LONDON’S ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, JUNE 6

Following the completion of his sold out US tour last week, David Gray has announced details of his highly anticipated “Lost And Found’ tour coming to the UK. Kicking off on Friday May 27 in Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, the tour will bring fans a show unlike anything Gray has done before. David’s series of intimate acoustic evenings will centre around the songs from his current album, and US Billboard Top 10, Foundling, and also include reinterpretations of songs both large and small from his entire catalogue. The run of exclusive shows culminates at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Monday, June 6.

“The ‘Lost and Found’ tour embodies more than just an opportunity to play some of the quieter, more intimate songs, not only from ‘Foundling’ but from across my catalogue.” said David. “It will provide a long anticipated platform for a completely different approach. In terms of the way that the sound of the music is captured and presented, it will be more like a recording session than a gig in many ways. Acoustic instruments will be mic’d up for their real sound, rather than going for the usual pick-up sound, and as a result volume levels both for the band and the audience will have to be kept much lower than at your average ‘rock’ show. Hopefully the sonic results will be more than worth the sacrifice of a few decibels. Essentially the ‘Lost and Found’ show will be a listening experience.”

David Gray has established himself as one of the UK’s leading music artists both at home and overseas. With a career now spanning over fifteen years, David’s commercial success is also backed up by a critical consensus and numerous accolades. His 2009 release Draw The Line continued his progress on both sides of the Atlantic. In the US, the album debuted in the Billboard Top 10 – his first album ever to do so, this was followed by two extensive sold out tours with Gray playing to some of the largest audiences of his career. In 2010 Foundling, Gray’s 9th studio album picked up where Draw the Line left off, creating a new chapter of lush, soulful songs that found Gray returning to his folk music roots. The album notched up a further Top 10 in the US and Gray followed the album’s success with the recently completed ‘Lost And Found’ tour. In the UK, Foundling drew further plaudits from the likes of Q who wrote “deeper and darker…Gray is getting more interesting with each release”, whilst The Times described the album as “impeccably crafted” and the Telegraph as “rich and heartfelt”. Gray now returns with ‘Lost And Found’ his most extensive UK tour since 2008.
