toodar & The October Game Release “Flash Floods and Wildfire”

| On 28, May 2011

Flash Floods and Wildfire” is the collaboration EP between The October Game and toodar, both tipped for great things in the coming year. The EP will be released on Scylla Records on 27 June 2011, available as an mp3 download and a set of one-off artwork pieces.
Inspired by the music, some of UK’s most promising artists have created one-off artworks in the spirit of the collaboration. These works will be on display at the launch of the EP at Favela Chic London on Wednesday 22 June 2011 and can be viewed and won only by way of raffle at www.flashfloodsandwildfire.com.
Far and beyond being a split-release, the title track “Flash Floods and Wildfire” is co-written by the two bands and has received BBC 6music airplay from Tom Robinson. Tracks ‘Ten Paces’ and ‘Woodrush’ are reinterpretations of toodar’s and The October Game’s songs respectively as performed by the other. The remaining tracks ‘Boxing Underwater’ and ‘Jack in a Box’ are the bands’ latest material to complete the EP.
The two bands create a perfect contrast, one from the country, one from the big smoke.
The October Game are the country mouse from the Hertfordshire market town of Hitchin, described as “a truly wonderful band” by BBC Introducing’s Tom Robinson. Having won Emerging Talent’s People’s Choice Award their music earned them a spot at Abby Road’s BBC Master class and is described by Total Guitar as “beautifully paced with exquisite arrangements and carefully layered Ambience”.
