The Jersey Live organisers are delighted to announce that the Sunday night bill will be joined by multi-award-winning indie pop band, The Ting Tings, in what will be their only UK festival appearance this summer. The festival, taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September and supported by Jersey Telecom, is close to the completion of its line-up, and the announcement of the Grammy-nominated (Best New Artist, 2010) British duo further bolsters a bill which already features a wealth of big names.
Joining New York seminal disco-punk act The Rapture, American pop alchemist Santigold and British ska legends The Beat on the Main Stage on Sunday 4th September, The Manchester-based Ting Tings will play in the penultimate slot before Ivor Novello-winning headliner Plan B.
This represents a coup for the festival; this is their only UK confirmed festival date, although they will be supporting Eminem at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival in August in front of a 62,000-strong crowd, and headlining Eurockeenes Festival in France, capacity 31,000. As a 10,000 capacity event, this is a huge booking for Jersey Live and will be a rare opportunity for Ting Tings fans to witness the band perform in a relatively intimate setting. With the much-anticipated follow-up to their Brit-nominated and Ivor Novello-winning debut album We Started Nothing, due to hit on August 1st, their stock is expected to be sky-high by the time they make their Jersey Live appearance, and fans can expect a healthy mix of old favourites such as ‘That’s Not My Name’ and ‘Shut Up & Let Me Go’, as well as new material.
