SLAM TENT CELEBRATES 15 YEARS AT T IN THE PARK

| On 23, May 2011

Every year since 1997 the mighty Slam Tent at T in the Park has brought the world’s most prominent figures in electronic music to the fields of Balado. DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager can now reveal a line up curated by world renowned techno powerhouse Slam that promises euphoric highs for 2 days packed full of the best dance music on the planet during the weekend of 8th – 10th July 2011.

Joining an exceptional Slam Tent line up that already includes Leftfield (live), Felix da Housecat, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and Vitalic (live) are Dave Clarke, Tiga, Chris Liebing, DJ Sneak, Hudson Mohawke (live), James Holden, Craig Richards, The Black Dog and Mark Henning.

The ‘Baron Of Techno’ Dave Clarke will follow Leftfield (live) on Saturday night to bring the first day’s proceedings to a thundering close. He’s known for his forward thinking vision with sets that swoop along the cutting blade of techno and electro backed up by a seasoned bag of digital DJ tricks. This is a man who loves playing techno to the masses, and where better to belt it out than in the Slam Tent.

Over a decade after Tiga launched his career on a revolutionary Montreal radio station he’s still making some of the finest dance music around and is credited with producing some of the most iconic tracks of our generation including his cover version of Corey Hart’s ‘Sunglasses at Night’ and his remix of Felix da Housecat’s ‘Madame Hollywood’. His ‘My Name Is Tiga’ podcasts are an immersive feast for the senses and his Saturday live set at Balado is sure to be the same.

The sound of Chris Liebing has continuously evolved throughout his mammoth career, keeping up with the digital movement to a point where his current setup offers him practically endless possibilities. An Ibiza stalwart, Chris played the early days of ‘Cocoon Ibiza’ and cohosted the island’s biggest techno fiesta ‘Meganite’ with Mauro Picotto. Chris is a founding member of the German techno scene in Berlin, the beating heart of the world’s electronic movement – with over 300,000 subscribers to his CLR podcasts, Chris is a tastemaker, a visionary, and a welcome addition to Sunday’s cutting edge Slam Tent line up.

One of dance music’s true pioneers, DJ Sneak has the passion and drive to keep house music alive. DJ Sneak has helped shape the course of dance music since the early 90s; his early music influencing the likes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Armand Van Helden. His signature sounds – funky filtered disco-influenced house and tough, jacking beats – have revolutionised and redefined house music for well over 15 years. Sneak continues to be at the top of his game: non stop beat bumpin’ sets are a one of a kind experience and one not to miss at T in the Park on Sunday.

The Slam Tent is a T in the Park essential for the discerning music lover with a taste for the finest beats around. Over the years the Slam Tent has hosted juggernaut sets from the likes of Daft Punk, Orbital, Fatboy Slim, Derrick May, Wu-Tang Clan and Laurent Garnier to name just a few of the performance titans to set foot in the big blue tent. With an atmosphere second to none and mind blowing acts a plenty – 2011’s line up is guaranteed to keep the tent’s big blue walls throbbing way into the night.
