Kreayshawn – ‘Bumpin Bumpin’ released June 27th on House Anxiety

| On 23, May 2011

Kreayshawn’s ‘Bumpin Bumpin’ is just one of those songs that can’t help but be a hit, whether it likes it or not. A genuine example of a Youtube Generation grassroots phenomenon, although this is its official release, it has already garnered frenzied notriety across the globe. Rippling out from the West Coast’s gnarliest clubs and hippest blogspots, its brain-gnoringly infectious pop-rap chill has spread like a virus, clocking up over 140k hits and counting on the video hub, and sirening the arrival of two very special talents in its creators.

The words of course come courtesy of its LA namesake, a swagged-out 21-year-old Oakland ex-pat, promo-director-turned-wicked-rhyme-chatter, and self-professed white girl mob leader. The production is the work of the inimitable San Francisco reprobate known as Adeptus, aka 25-year-old Philip Holtzman. His trademark combination of classic freestyle hip hop beats, and acid-drenched trance synths conjur a cold space-filled soundscape that’s as uneasy as it is addictive. Since ‘Bumpin’s runaway success, the producer -heralded everywhere from Pitchfork and Fader to NME and XLR8R- has become one of the most sought-after remix names around, with an upcoming EP on House Anxiety slated for August 2011.

Natassia’s verses, jerking from chirping narrative to schitzed-out chemical loops, have already established her as the princess of ‘based-hip hop’ and one of the most the most talked about new rap stars on-the-rise. It seems that her unique flow -vivid, fun-filled, hook-laden and uncompromising- will be the next heady blend setting hip hop’s world ablaze.

Released on June 27th, it will come in both DJ-friendly 12-inch vinyl and digital. It is the latest release from the infamous House Anxiety imprint.
Kreayshawn will play her debut shows in the UK during August. Full details to follow.
