All Mankind – Break The Spell

With a potent dose of anthemic pop-rock, All Mankind’s new single release marks them as a band with great potential. Break the Spell begins with a frail sound; a keyboard rift followed by vocals initially supported only by percussion. However, the tune successfully builds into an impressive, atmospheric chorus that is followed by the mellifluously breathed hook, ‘only love survives’ (which I have to admit has been going round my head ever since).
The track has a similar quality to bands such as Keane and Coldplay, obviously suggesting their potential for huge success, however, there is something that seems a little unfinished about this release. Whilst obviously competent musicians, a fuller and more polished sound would improve the quality of this release.
