TIM & JEAN Single Release and live shows announced!

| On 20, May 2011

‘I Can Show You’ is the second release from rising teen stars Tim & Jean and another effortlessly catchy electro-pop tune – anthemic and irrepressibly infectious. With its lush mix summery synths and pulsating bass line, it is the perfect follow up to debut ‘Come Around.’, which was playlisted at XFM and reached No.8 in the Hype Machine.

The track showcases the young Australian duo’s ability to write hits and it’s no surprise they have drawn comparisons to the likes of MGMT, Passion Pit and Cut Copy. Uplifting, euphoric surges are the flavour here but they are nicely contrasted with carefully constructed breezy interludes.

Tim Ayre and Jean-Christophe Caporto’s careers have progressed at a rapid rate since meeting at their local train station aged just 17 & 14. Quickly establishing their shared passion for music and love for the likes of Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty they agreed to meet and within a few days had penned their first three songs.

After posting the tracks on the Triple J Unearthed website and Myspace a bidding war ensued that resulted in them being flown to the States to perform showcases for several major labels. They signed to Universal Records, Australia, and recorded their debut album in New York with John O’Mahoney (Coldplay, Metric & Kaiser Chiefs) at the legendary Electric Ladyland Studios. Now regulars on the Australian festival circuit, they’ve also supported La Roux, Franz Ferdinand, Two Door Cinema Club, Empire of the Sun and Moby.

Tim &Jean’s debut album ‘Like What’ is due for release on Publica Records on 27th June and the band will play their first ever UK shows that month, dates above.
