Foster The People
Debut album details announced
Foster The People have announced they will release their debut album ‘Torches’ on 27th June which will be preceded by second single ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ on 20th June. The band, who recently played their debut UK shows – both of which sold out – at CAMP and Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen – have also announced a string of summer festival shows. After the Hoxton show, NME described them as “accessible yet challenging, gleaming yet gritty, pop yet petrifying: Foster The People are a fresh evolution of modern music” whilst the Sunday Times declared they were “a band with greatness absolutely within their grasp.”
The band recently completed their first, completely sold-out, North American tour and have announced a second run of dates this summer in which two dates in Los Angeles and New York sold-out in under an hour each. The band will also make their television debut on May 23rd on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! having made their festival debut at this year’s Coachella in which the LA Times explained that “Foster the People don’t even have a full-length album out yet, but it’s safe to say that the world has caught on” as the band played a mid-afternoon set to 8,000 people.
In the U.S “Pumped Up Kicks” recently featured on E! News and currently sits at #5 on the alternative radio charts. The track which debuted late last year on Nylon TV was soon featured by Blackbook and a year later has been streamed by over 3 million people!
The band will play the following UK festivals over the summer with more shows to be announced:

Saturday 14th May – The Great Escape @ Coalition
