POP-ROCK LEGENDS HANSON SELL OUT CAREER SPANNING FIVE NIGHT CONCERT SERIES IN LONDON JUNE 5th-10th

NEW ALBUM SHOUT IT OUT TO BE RELEASED JUNE 5th

April 12 2011 London –

In celebration of the release of their fifth album Shout It Out, which is officially confirmed for UK release June 5th, HANSON are staging their 5-night concert series 5of5 London. The concerts feature each of the band’s studio albums performed in their entirety on consecutive nights at Kings College London June 5th-8th & June 10th corresponding with album release week. The London concert series which was announced to the public last week, brings into focus the more than 13 years of music from the band since their iconic debut, climaxing with the UK live premiere of Shout It Out on the final night of the series.

“Five of Five gives us a chance to bring the entire albums into a live setting like we’ve never done before for UK fans. It’s also a rare chance for us to say thank you to so many who have let us release records and tour the world over for more than 13 years”, said Taylor Hanson.

The infectious debut single ‘Give A Little’ which reflects the albums soul-infused pop-rock will be released May 8th, and includes incredible remixes from Questlove (The Roots) and RAC as well as two remixes selected by fans in the band’s remix contest, hosted by Soundcloud.com.

Shout It Out which made its debut last year at #2 in the US Billboard independent charts, is a collection of finely crafted R&B-flavored pop-rock, a homage to the music that inspired HANSON when they started out. Produced and written exclusively by the band, the album is augmented with special guests: Funk Brothers bassist Bob Babbitt, who played on some of Motown’s greatest hits and horn arranger Jerry Hey, who worked with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind and Fire and many more.

It’s 13 years since the brothers made history with their, soul-inspired brand of American pop-rock lead by the breakout single MmmBop, a phenomenon all over the world and one of the purest pop hits of the last 2 decades. It was the first simultaneous #1 single in the UK and the US along with 25 other countries. The multi-platinum debut album Middle Of Nowhere also garnered 3 Grammy nominations for the band as the youngest-ever nominated songwriters, and earning high marks as one of the top albums of the 90’s by Rolling Stone.

Since then, the trio have blazed a trail through modern music, forging a career through their own indie label 3CG Records, which was founded to release their third studio album, 2004’s Underneath, and produced a top 10 UK and #2 single in the US with “Penny And Me”. Driven by their pioneering internet promotion focused on cultivating a relationship with their loyal fanbase, the band proved the model for the music industry to follow.

Most importantly, the band have grown into one the best pop/rock bands in the world, tirelessly touring and producing 5 great albums. Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson have spent the last 13+ years, starting with their first major tour in 1998, earning huge respect for their live performances. New York’s highly respected Village Voice was moved to name them “the finest straight up rock band in America”, while U2’s Bono just called them “genius”.

The upcoming UK release of Shout It Out, on their own 3CG Records, will be available on all formats with the physical album release including a bonus DVD Best Of 5 featuring live performances of the band’s most iconic singles captured at the original 5of5 concert series in New York.
