Islington Buffalo bar celebrates its 10th birthday with rockabilly legend Dan Sartain. Singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, pays off with an energetic act ranging from his first hits to latest album Dan Sartain Lives.
The crowd of Buffalo Bar is captured by his unmistakable pitch with the first beats of I Wanna Join The Army, when the atmosphere turns straight away frenetic and exciting. Dan alternates its usual electric fury with acoustic versions that show an undiscovered aspect of the American artist.
The audience appreciate and sweats on the beats of latest single Fuck . Rockabilly, punk and garage pass through the veins of this Bukowskian figure. Rage and nihilism explode through the lyrics of his songs, especially from the oldest ones, where the feeling of anger seems more apparent and direct. Atheist Funeral is a bullet in the head, but the best of Dan has yet to come: in fact, the final combo Leeches Pt.1 and P.C.B. 98 is mind-blowing and leaves the audience cheering and still breathless.
