Best known for pushing the boundaries of fine dining to new levels, the Rebel Dining Society returns with the second instalment of The Green Hour, a highly successful collaboration with Pernod Absinthe.
Having staged five unique dining events at secret locations across London throughout 2010, the city’s most notorious underground dining society steps up to table once again, this time embarking on a series of ten dining events staged across ten weeks at their new headquarters on Vyner Street.
Each event is the result of a challenge presented by the Rebel Dining Society to ten of London’s top mixologists to create a series of five unique Pernod Absinthe cocktails.
The mixologists who include 69 Colebrooke Row’s Tony Conigliaro, the founder of London Cocktail Club JJ Goodman, Drinks International Cocktail Challenge winner Merlin Griffiths and Matt Armitage of Bartechnics will each star at a dining event offering guests a step-by-step mixology master-class on how to create all five of their cocktails. Guests will have the opportunity to make and sample each cocktail gaining an insight into the history, characteristics and uniqueness of Pernod Absinthe.
The cocktail menus will each be accompanied by a paired tasting menu of five courses in which the Rebel Dining Society will showcase some of the latest techniques in molecular gastronomy.
Tickets will go on sale for the price of £40.00 and to acquire a much-coveted seat at the Rebel Dining Society’s table, guests need just sign up on the Rebel Dining Society’s website (www.therebeldiningsociety.co.uk) and await an invitation.
Pernod Absinthe is steeped in fascinating history from its humble starting point to worldwide success and cult followings. It has inspired artists and bohemian creativity for well over two century’s. The collaboration between Rebel Dining Society and Pernod Absinthe should therefore come as no surprise. Says founder Shay Ola of The Green Hour 2.0
