The Tamborines: ‘Black And Blue’ – New Single Released April 18th
aaamusic | On 14, Apr 2011
The Tamborines release their new single Black & Blue via their own Beat-Mo imprint on Monday, April 18th.
It will be available on limited-edition 7″ vinyl and as a download.
The single is the first new material from the band since last years acclaimed debut album Camera & Tremor and also the first featuring their new line-up, which sees Lulu Grave moving from keyboards to drums (and also, on B-side Indian Hill, lead vocals). The addition of bassist Chokis Costa gives singer/guitarist Henrique Laurindo even more space to unleash his arsenal of feedback and fuzz.
Recorded at the bands home studio in west London, Black & Blue is a pure pop rush, distilling the wooziness of My Bloody Valentine, the barbed wire kisses of The Jesus And Mary Chain and the lo-fi indie of Guided by voices before attaching the results to a runaway Bo Diddley beat and adding a saccharine sweet melody for good measure. Its possibly the most exhilarating two minutes and 10 seconds youll hear all year.
Following their recent dates with the likes of 2:54 and Crystal Stilts, The Tamborines are hosting a launch party for the single as part of the White Light clubnight at The Lexington in London on Friday, April 15. They will play live alongside very special guests Patent Saints and Zoo Zero.
