springfestival has just announced another batch of names who will be illuminating and enriching this year’s festival in the stunning city of Graz. Featuring some of the finest names in the electronic spectrum, springfestival brings together a richly diverse range of talent including global stars alongside the cutting-edge names of the future, performing across a wide range of venues and urban spaces in a UNESCO World Heritage city.
There’s lots more scintillating live action to savour from springfestival. German digital hardcore outfit Atari Teenage Riot will be inciting the Graz crowds into fully-fledged abandon; they rub shoulders with nu-disco-house revivalists Hercules and Love Affair, the globe-trotting collective helmed by Andrew Butler who have electrified festivals and clubs. South-London’s Patrick Wolf utilises a wide variety of instruments in his music, most commonly the ukulele, piano and viola. Renown for combining electronic sampling with classical instruments, Wolf’s styles range from romantic folk to techno-pop. Kitsune’s Logo also play live, alongside neo-disco USA dudes French Horn Rebellion, who fuse dance-pop to electro-disco to incredible effect.
On the DJ side, Hamburg disco fiend Tensnake has had the nu-disco purists salivating since his seminal Coma Cat track took the world by storm; he has managed to marry the underground purity with a credible hookier edge, taking the music to the record boxes of key radio tastemakers such as Annie Mac and Pete Tong. Revered French DJ and producer Sebastian Leger also stars; the Mistakes Music label owner crafts house and electro and had remixed everyone from Danni Minogue to Eric Prydz.
There’s also a special Hospitality Records showcase from some of the label’s leading lights, including: London Elektricity (and Elsa Esmerelda), Logistics
Nu:tone (and Natalie Williams), John B, Joe Syntax, Sigma, Stanza
and Mc AD, SP:MC and Messy MC. This is the first time the famed drum and bass label has come to springfestival. The hugely anticipated 7th album from London Elektricity, Yikes!, drops at the end of April and expect some of this amazing new material to drop in Graz.
