Alex Metric and Steve Angello massive dance track “Open Your Eyes”, featuring the vocal talents of indie legend Ian Brown, will be released on 8th May 2011 through Positiva/Virgin Records.

The instrumental was released via BeatPort at the end of January and has been tearing up the dance scene ever since with spins from: Pete Tong (who said the track was so big it would need its own festival!), Zane Lowe and Annie Mac with a massive response from the public via text and email.

Alex said: “it is truly amazing for me to have someone whose music has had such an impact on what I do singing on “Open Your Eyes”.  It was an honour to work with him. He sounds fantastic on the track and lyrically manages to capture the epic quality of the instrumental.  So proud of our version; Ian brown I salute you!”

Best known as the former lead singer of The Stone Roses, this is a new direction for Ian Brown who said: “I’m made up to be on board”.

Alex Metric has been blazing a trail over the last couple of years. His glitchy productions, innovatively combining his love of 80s synth-pop, filter disco, big beat and indie, have been devastating dancefloors worldwide. His collaborator, Steve Angello, is already a highly regarded DJ and Producer worldwide with his underground productions. Steve has gone on to scale further heights as part of the Swedish House Mafia, with two Top 10 singles and sell out Arena shows.

Alex Metric will release an album, also entitled ‘Open Your Eyes’, later in the summer and will feature original material, remixes and productions.
