Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter offer free download from upcoming genre defying album

| On 02, Apr 2011

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter are offering a free download of ‘Come To Mary’, a song taken from their new album ‘Marble Son’, released via Fargo Records on the May 2nd. ‘Marble Son’ is the band’s fourth record on Fargo and their first release since 2007’s critically acclaimed ‘Like, Love, Lust & The Open Halls of The Soul’.

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter – Come To Mary by KARTEL

Influenced in part by an association with the heavy doom and art-metal movement, centred around Los Angeles label Southern Lord (both Jesse Sykes and guitarist Phil Wandscher appeared on Altar, a collaboration album between Sunn O))) and Boris), ‘Marble Son’ sees the band explore a rockier and more psychedelic sound than on previous albums. The resulting record is entirely unexpected and totally mesmerizing.

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter, whose European tour kicks off on April 15th at the Sunn o))) curated Roadburn Festival in Holland, arrive in the UK for a string of live dates on April 17th. The tour culminates with a headline show at the Monto Water Rats in London on April 21st.
